The Office of the Secretary of State, the Legislative Analyst Office, the Fair Political Practices Commission and the Attorney General's Office supplied the information on the measures. Pro and con arguments as well as background information came from many sources including the California Voter Information Guide and Ballot Pamphlet, legislative hearing testimony, interviews, newspapers (many of the articles were found on the California Voter Foundation website), magazines, and from the supporters and opposition.
The League of Women Voters of California is a nonpartisan organization committed to informed and active citizen participation in government. All citizens, men and women, of voting age are welcomed to join. The League has two roles, citizen education and advocacy. Our election services are carried out by the League of Women Voters of California Education Fund (LWVCEF) and exclude all advocacy.
