At the 2003 Convention, the League of Women Voters of California approved a study to update the LWVC energy position in light of recent developments in the electric energy industry. The Energy Study Committee has produced this Study Guide for use by Leagues as they examine the major changes in California's electric system.
A Leader's Guide for League study committees is available on the LWVC members Web site. League members may contact their local League president or lwvc@lwvc.org for directions for accessing that site. These four papers are intended to help members of the League and others to become informed about issues in the electric power industry.
See also "Focusing our Thoughts" from the Leader's Guide of the study.
In 2001, the subject of Energy was designated as an Issue for Emphasis by the members of the League of Women Voters of California at its convention. Read ENERGY - Issue for Emphasis 2001-2003 which includes summaries of LWV California interviews of leaders in California’s energy policy and background information on electrical energy concerns in California.
