More than 95 League members-one-third of the delegates and visitors to the LWVC Convention-attended back-to-back workshops on "Diversity: Tools for League Survival" facilitated by LWVC Diversity Task Force co-chairs Rosie Stephens and Carol Vernon and Task Force members Janis Hirohama, Barbara Inatsugu, Carol Voisin, and Carol West. The workshops gave League members an opportunity to become familiar with the LWVUS Diversity Toolkit, to brainstorm the elements of a plan of action for effectively reaching out to the broad range of people who make up their communities, and to reaffirm their commitment to making the League a more inclusive organization.

Other Diversity Task Force members Janis Hirohama, Barbara Inatsugu, President Karyn Gill, Co-Chair Carol Vernon,w and Jacqueline Perea.
Workshop participants from all over the state contemplated the question "What is diversity?" and looked at barriers that prevented the League from achieving more diversity. They discussed specific strategies for making their Leagues more diverse. Many participants shared success stories and a variety of approaches based on their local League experiences.
