Hotel del Coronado, San Diego, California

Share the Spirit

By Alice McCauley, Co-Chair Volunteer Committee, LWV San Diego

If you won't be attending the convention as a delegate, you still can experience the energy and observe first hand the decisions made on national program and the future direction of League.

Volunteer opportunities include staffing information desks, registration tables and being on the convention floor. You can help with convention activities for a few hours or for a few days.

"Off-duty" perks are many:

  • Observe the plenary sessions at no charge (saving the $90 to $170 registration fee.)

  • Shop the wares market with products from Leagues around the country.

  • Walk the beach where "Some Like it Hot" was filmed and wiggle your toes in the same sand as Marilyn Monroe (well, maybe not the very same sand.)

  • Experience the majestic Hotel del Coronado with its storybook red and white Victorian architecture with turrets, spires. This National Historic Landmark hotel, built in 1888, inspired one-time guest and author Frank Baum to write the famous "Wizard of Oz."

  • But best of all, hang out with other League members, who are people dedicated to the things you hold dear.

Mark your calendars and Share the Spirit . See you in San Diego!
